summary
Shinsou Hitoshi didn’t expect to struggle like this when he returned from his year-long undercover mission. He's safe and successful, but the coping mechanisms that kept him pushing forward through the worst of it crumble without the ever-present threat of death. Paid time off is more of a curse than a blessing. He feels like he doesn't fit in his own skin and attempts to reconnect with old friends leave him more alienated as the gap between regular pro-hero work and the brutality he’s experienced undercover grows. Everything's changed and he doesn't know where he belongs anymore.
His former mentor seems to be the only one who understands what he's going through; their relationship becomes an anchor as Shinsou is tossed about by a storm of his own making. As he’s plagued by flashbacks, guilt, and nightmares, he descends into a self-destructive spiral of drunken fights and rough sex with strangers. He finds refuge, however, in the safe space by Aizawa’s side. Their dynamic shifts to something much more intimate — and kinky — as they grow closer.
